'• (From Our Own Correspondent.) , OTAKI, April 14. At the danco held at To Horo in aid of the To* Horo School tonnis courts, the funds raised amounted to £lO 10s. For the euchro tournament prizes wore w,cn aa follow Ist lady, Airs Flutey; Ist gentloman, Mr J. D. Ashdown; consolation prizes were won by Mesdames Hagan and Lumaden. It is understood that Mr A. Brown, the well-known trainer, has purchased a property in Otaki, and that his training quarters will bo established here. Splendid progress is being made with tho erection of the new Anglican Church' at, Otaki and the contractors expect to have tho work completed by tho end of tho month. ~ Mr Eric Goodall severely injured the muscles of his back on Saturday. Ho was riding one horso and leading another when he was pulled off. The injured man is at present in the Otaki Hospital, and will probably bo there till after Easter. Mr Alatongu Baker, who has been in the Palmerston North Hospital, returned home on Saturday night. Mr and Mrs O’Rourko, Mr and Mrs P. H. Harper, and Mrs Chamberlain, who have been on a visit to Rotorua, returned homo on Saturday. Mr and Mr 3 Harper will now visit Christchurch. . At th*> annual meeting of the Otaki Ladies’ Hookey Club it was decided to disband owing to the lack of suppprt from membors, some of whom wished to join other clubs. On Saturday, 12th inst., tho _ ladies medal golf round was won by Mies Jessie Podevin, with Airs Leary second. On Saturday (April 19th) there will be a bogey match for ladies.
