ARCHBISHOP MANNIX’S VIEWS. Speaking at the; opening of a .Roman 'Catholic'school at Brunswick, Victoria, Archbishop Mannix ' said that if .Australia in achieving its purpose it would be owing to the- absence of children. It was possible to recover from droughts and financial depression, but there was no recovery from empty cradles, which had -given the deathblow to other empires. He urged Australia to take the decline of other empires and kingdoms seriously to heart.
