HIGHLAND PIPE BAND.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The Manawatu Highland Pipe Band, which is holding a fireworks display on tire Showgrounds to-mor-row evening, rarely comes before the public with an appeal, although the band has made many public appear-, ■ances gratuitously to aid various movements. We are at present building up a fund for the purpose of equipping the band with a uniform set of kilts, and will appreciate good support at to-morrow evening’s function in the form of a large attendance of the public. Wo promise an excellent entertainment. Our programme has been duly advertised, and, in addition, we are having the kind assistance of the Garrison Band, which has generously offered its services.—l 'am, etc., JOHN ELLIS, President, Manawatu Highland Pipe Band.
