GENERAL FORECAST. Wednesday’s cyclone has passed to tho eastward, but another depression is advancing from the Southern Tasman Sea. Winds moderate to strong westerly to south-westerly, but southwesterlies becoming general later. Seas rough on tho West Coast and south of Castlepoint; moderate north of Castlepoint. Strong westerly backing to southerly winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea with rough seas. Weather cool and changeable with showers in most districts; heavy at places on the West Coast. DISTRICT REPORT. SCATTEREDSHOWERS. The Government meteorologist wired to-day:—The indications are for moderate to strong westerly winds, backing by west to south and freshening. The weather will probably be cool and changeable, with scattered showers. The barometer is unsteady, with a rising tendency. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—l2in.
