VIOLENT SCENE.

FORMER JUSTICE ATTACKED. SYDNEY, April 10. There was a violent scene in the House of Representatives this afternoon when Mr Eldridge, Labour member for Parramatta, attacked Sir Adrian Knox, former Chief Justice of the High Court. Mr Eldridge declared that Sir Adrian Knox had made a sensational exit , from the judiciary after his hand had been exposed, and after becoming a beneficiary to the extent of £1,000,000’ under the will of a man who had thrown thousands of families into misery and suffering. Members of the Opposition shouted protests, whereupon the Chairman of Committee ruled that judges who had resigned were exposed to criticism and enjoyed no Parliamentary protection.
