GIANT OIL GUSHER.

A FRESH OUTBREAK. NEW YORK, April 5. News from Oklahoma City states that the giant wild oil gusher, which imperilled that city was brought under control late this evening, after a picked crew had worked 36 hours to strap a three-thousand-pound “Christmas Tree.” cone over the mouth. However, the gusher blew off the cone and is again geysering vast streams of oil, gas and air. The engineers will make one more attempt to control the well, the force of the eruption of which lias in no way abated. •If the attempt is unsuccessful the engineers intend to destroy it by pumping in cement until it is completely dammed. Its destruction will be necessary in order to end the vast damage and the increasing fire hazard. Troops are patrolling the area for miles. Several men were overcome during the lashing of the cap to the well. Farmers and dairymen in the vicinity suffered great losses from the escaping gases, while the owners of 1 lie well estimate the loss at 75,000 dollars daily for nine days, each of which saw the loss of above 150 million cubic feet of gas.
