HEADQUARTERS REPORTiv. The twenty-eighth annual meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association takes place at Christchurch bn the last day of this month. The report states that -the governing body experienced a very successful year; while the finances for the. year disclose a very satisfactory position. . ” . ;l - The outstanding features of the year were the visit of the Australian-repre-sentative team, the winning of the challenge shield /.by Canterbury,': and the very keen competition by the minor associations for the Norden Cup, .held by Dannevirke. " - 7 • The .‘policy to’be adopted regarding the extending of ; invitations 'to •_‘overseas teams to, visit New Zealand in the future will be dealt with at the annual meeting. The respective merits and chances of securing visits from England, F'rance, Belgium, India, Japan, and Fiji-have been considered, but the best and most attractive proposition appear® to be another invitation to the Indian Army team. Tho New Zealand Challenge Shield has now been competed for in 64 ordinary challenge matches and in three tournaments.
