BRITAIN AND EGYPT.
TREATY NEGOTIATIONS. ' GOOD PROGRESS MADE. (British Official Wireless.) Received April's,'lo a.m. ’ LONDON, April 4. The negotiations for the conclusion of an Anglo-Egyptian "treaty were continued at a meeting in the Foreign Office to-day. Various points were discussed in the light of the observations furnished by the Egyptian delegation, and good progress was made. > A further meeting has been arranged for Monday. , ■ ' . COMPREHENSIVE PROPOSALS. 1 LONDON, April 3. It is understood that the Anglo Egyptian Treaty negotiations took an important turn at this morning’s meeting, when Nahas Pasha, the Egyptian Premier, presented comprehensive counter proposals to the Mahmoud draft treaty. These are bolieved to include a demand,for dual control of the Suez Canal; in other words, that Egypt equally share the protection of the Canal with Britain. It is further proposed that Egypt virtually have sole occupation, :" . ; .5Neither the Foreign Office nor the Egyptian Legation offers the slightest comment.
