RUGBY FOOTBALL. (From - Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, April 4. There was a’ pleasing' muster of both seniors and juniors at Wednesday’s ‘practioe match, played on the 'Domain, and some good talent has been' brought. to light, which augurs well for the success of the Bulls Club in both grades this season. The playing area is very hard, and the long grass on the Sportsground is a source of danger at present. In-fact, on Wednesday afternoon somebody dropped a lighted match, and it took about thirty players all their time to beat out the conflagration with tree branches, nearly half an acre pf grass being ablaze. If the fire had not been tackled., immediately, the whole of the grazing area of the. Recreation Ground 'might have gone iip in smoke. OLD RESIDENT’S DEATH. Deep regret is universally, expressed at the death of Mrs M. Henderson, of'Ghakea, which occurred in Palmerston North on Tuesday evening, subsequent to an accident, the late Mrs Henderson falling and fracturing her hip. . The private interment took place at Sanson on Thursday. v: ■; GENERAL. Mr L. itV. Homes is visiting Wellington.
