MISSION BOATS.—One of the- whaleboats for the Melanesian Mission being given a trial at Auckland, after it was launched. Two of these boats have been built at a cost of £loo each complete, the funds for one having been donated by the Parish of Wycombe, England. This boat will be used by the Rev. George West, of New Zealand, who has one of the loneliest tasks on the Reef Islands.
