RUGBY FOOTBALL.
ST. PATRICK’S CLUB’S ANNUAL REPORT.
The annual report of St. Patrick’s Rugby Club, which will be presented to members at the annual meeting on Thursday night, states that the club experienced a very successful season last winter. Although it had been compelled to withdraw the fourth grade team from the competitions owing to a shortage of players, the third grade fifteen had again acquitted itself well, only losing three matches. The team had again won the “sudden death” competition, thereby retaining the Anderson Cup, which has been held by the club since it was first formed. Thanks are due to Rev. Father Herlihey, Messrs J. Hanley, T. Madgwick, E- Norris, H. Lane, N. Mitchell, J. Delaney, R. Greer, Bleazell, M. O’Reilly and W. Franks and Mrs Mulloney for their assistance to the club; also to Mr Hambling for coaching the team. The finances of the club are very satisfactory, while the prospects for the incoming season are bright and the club expects to have more than one team in the field this season.
