COMPLAINT BY FARMERS.
TROUBLE WITH HEATERS. POWER BOARD’S ACTION. Complaints that farmers were experiencing trouble with their water heaters were brought under the notice of the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board at the monthly meeting yesterday. The Alanawatu and West Coast Dairy Association advised that complaints had been received from farmers thftt they were not getting sufficient power for their purposes, and asking the board to expedite as far as possible the installations of larger transformers. The chairman (Air J. A. Nash) suggested that the board reply to the effect that the matter was receiving attention, as was indicated by the installation of new transformers. Mr P. J. Small stated that one farmer had complained that he never could obtain boiling water, and he had heard of other similar allegations. He accepted a suggestion of the chairman to inve.4tigate any such cases and bring them before the board. Mr H. H. Hunt said he had been informed by the dairy instructor that the water heaters were not satisfactory. Mr Small stated that personally he had no trouble, and the fault might lie with some of the farmers themselves.
The board decided to reply as proposed, the chairman intimating that an inspection would be made and any troubles immediately investigated.
