COAL DISPUTE.
MONDAY’S CONFERENCE, FAILURE PREDICTED. Received March 8, 9.10 a.m. SYDNEY, March 8. The feeling in labour circles is that Monday’s conference of the coal owners’ representatives and the miners’ representatives will again be abortive. It is pointed out that the miners are in a stronger position to resist a compromise than heretofore by reason of the stiff levies to be imposed upon all unionists by the Trade Union Conference for their sustenance.
