SYMPATHY EXPRESSED.
VOTES OF CONDOLENCE. Resolutions of sympathy with the relatives of . deceased members and friends were passed by the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association at the monthly meeting yesterday. “It is my sad duty to refer to some of our old friends and supporters who have joined the great majority,” stated the chairman (Mr J. Linkliter), who mentioned, that the late Mr J. G. Harkness, an old member, had passed away. The chairman stated that deceased had been a vicepresident of the association from 1908 to 1913, and was a past, secretary of the National Dairy Association. He was also a noted Jersey judge and a great supporter of" shows throughout the country, and was at one time a member of the Wellington Harbour Board. - The chairman stated that the late Mr Harkness was a brother-in-law of the treasurer, Mr T. R. Hodder, and a cousin of Mr F. S. McRae.
Referring to the late Mr George Kendall, the chairman stated that he was an old member of the association, and one of the early pioneers. He was a member of the committee from 1898 to 1900 and represented the Borough Council from 1916 to 1918, having
always been a great supporter of the show.
Regret would be felt by all that Mr R. A. Fuller, an old member of the association, had passed away, also Mr Print.
Reference was made by Mr Linklater to the death of Lady Wilson, widow of the late Sir James Wilson, of Bulls, and the bereavement suffered by Mr George Wilton in the loss of his wife.
