BUT FROCKS WERE STOLEN. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 20. In the Police Court, Mary Haslip, aged 41, was sentenced by Mr Hunt, S.M., to 21 days’ imprisonment for shoplifting, on three charges of stealing from a city drapery store eight frocks valued at £62. Chief-Detective Hammond said that accused, who had pleaded guilty, was living apart from her husband but was being maintained by him. Accused and her daughter were seen in the street by a shop assistant .who identified tlio stolen frocks being worn by them. Accused was “dressed to kill.” Other stolen goods were found in accused’s residence.
