AWAPUNI HEALTH CAMP.
PRAISE FROM BOARD. Eulogistic reports as to the manner in which the people of Palmerston North and district had undertaken support of the children’s health camp at Awapuni were made to the Wanganui Education Board on Wednesday by Mr M. H. Oram. He said that 36 to 38 sheep had been donated, so the meat problem was safe and there was plenty of milk and other produco offering. The sleeping quarters were ideal. He lroped that the board would set a day apart oil which to visit the camp. Mr W. H. Collins: “It is up to Wanganui people to take note of what Palmerston North can do.” He said that the camp had started with a balance in hand his year and care would have to be taken to provide for next year. He hoped that the time was not far distant when the camp v would come under the jurisdiction of ? the Health Department and the board/ would lie relieved of responsibility.
