CONSUMERS OF ELECTRICITY.
MANAWATU-OROUA BOARD. STATEMENT~OF ACCOUNTS. Loans amounting to £491,700 have been raised by the Manawatu-Oroua Electric Power Board, according to a statement of accounts made by the secretary (Mr K. W. Eglinton) to the monthly meeting to-day. He reported that £489,481 had been expended to date, leaving a balance of £2219 which, with power fund advance of £14,261, made an amount of £16,480. Installations, sales and advances made to date amounted to £114,470 9s 7d. An amount of £105,610 0s 7d had been collected, leaving £BB6O 9s outstanding. Sales of current for the nine months of this financial year totalled £50,171 9s 9d, compared with £4l 655 14s 9d for the corresponding period of the preceding term, a twenty per cent, increase accounting for £8515 15s. Consumers connected were as follow : —Lighting and heatine 4334, ranges 626, water heaters 1189* milklng motors 830, miscellaneous motors 526, industrial motors 169, dairy factory motors 74, freezing works 47 street lights 255, community li' hts 76!
