Mr Sheldon subsequently came to Canterbury to serve under the late Archdeacon Harper. Mr J. C Sheldon, of Christchurch, is a son, and Mr H. Sheldon, of Timaru, is a grandson of the clergyman who journeyed to Melbourne with Bishop Perry.
