GENERAL FORECAST. The depression has now passed eastwards. An intense anti-cycione covers the Tasman Sea -and New Zealand. Winds south to south-east, fresh to strong .from Cook Strait northwards; elsewhere light to moderate. Seas rather rough north of Kaikoura and in the South Taranaki Bight. Elsewhere smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate south to south-east winds and moderate seas in the Eastern Tasman Sea. Some scattered showers between Castlepoint and East Cape, and in North Auckland; otherwise fine. Cool night and warm day temperatures. DISTRICT REPORT, WARMER CONDITIONS. The Government meteorologist wired to-day;—The indications are for moderate easterly winds backing by east to north.
