FOXTON.
DEATH OF MRS LIDDELL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Dec. 10. The, death took place at, tho Palmerston North Hospital on Sunday, after a brief illness, of Mrs Margaret Liddell (relict of tho late Mr John Watson Liddell) at the age of 85 years. Deceased enjoyed comparatively good health until a few weeks agio when it later became necessary to remove her for treatment in the hospital. Deceased for many years livod alone in tho old County Council building in the street which bears her late husband’s name. She was the daughter of Mr D. Lind, of Wanganui, in which town she was married in 1863 to Mr J. W. Liddell. Tho late Mr Liddell settled in Wanganui in 1855 and in 1872 took up his residence in Foxton where he carried on business as a general merchant. Ho passed away in May, 1905. Thcro are nine children and a number of grandchildren left to mourn their loss. The intorment took placo at the Kelvin Grove cemetery on Tuesday aftornoon. PLUNKET SOCIETY. At the usual monthly meeting lof the Plunkct Society Mrs F. Robinson was. : n tho chair. Accounts amounting to 4s lid wore passed for payment. It .was decided that, owing to the lowest tender for the new building being nearly £2OO above the amount in hand, the building fund bo left at fixed deposit for 12 months or .until such time as thoro is enough money <n hand to proceed with the work.
