COLLEGE BURSARY.

MEMORY OF TWO SONS. WELLINGTON, Dec. 11. The Wellington College Board of Governors, at a meeting yesterday afternoon, received a letter from Mr John Gallie, of Kelburn, advising that he’ had paid to the Public Trustee £IOOO to be invested in the common fund, the net amount of the interest thereby derived to be paid to the board fr.ee of any charge whatsoever for the establishment of a college bursary to perpetuate the memory of his two sons who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War. They were Captain Oscar E. Gallie, D.S.O.j M.C.j R.F.A., and Captain Victor J. Gallie, M.C., C. de G., R.F.A. Mr Gallie expressed the wish that the board might be long spared to iward the bursary, and his desire was hat it might stimulate tho recipient of the award to emulate his sons, both “old boys,.” in character, patriotism, and devotion to duty The chairman, Mr W. H. P. Barber, said that he thought there was no better way by which Mr Gallie could per[jetuate the memory of his 'sons. The aoard was very grateful for the gift.
