IN DIVORCE.
DECREES GRANTED. Three divorce actions were heard in the Supreme Court this morning by His Honour Mr Justice Blair. Petitioning on the grounds of desertion, Esther Evelyn Kirkman, of Dannevirke, sought a dissolution of her marriage with John Samuel Kirkman, farmer, formerly of Timaru, but whose address is now unknown. Petitioner stated that she was married in Timaru in 1918, there being one child. She and her husband had resided in various places and, after leaving her prior to 1925, her husband had said that he had a house in Wellington and a good position. Petitioner had then left Timaru for Wellington, where she found that her husband had neither a home nor work. Her husband had said that he had only wanted her to live with him for a day or two in order that she would have to wait another three years before she could divorce him. In 1926 petitioner had applied for a separation and maintenance order, but the police had been unable to find her husband. R. A. Nicol, hotel proprietor, of Dannevirke, said that petitioner had worked for him sinoe 1926, during which time she had been apart from her husband. A decree niei, to be moved absolute after three months, was granted, petitioner to have the custody of the child. Costs on the lowest scale were given against respondent. DECREES ABSOLUTE. A decree absolute was granted to Irene Selina Leslie, of Maharahara, against Peter James Leslie, farmer, of Ohakune. Charlotte McKinnon, .of Dannevirke, was granted a decree absolute against Cecil Frederick McKinnon, formerly of Dannevirke, but whose present address is unknown. Mr Dorrington (Dannevirke) appeared for petitioner in each case.
