GUY FAWKES NIGHT.
BOY LOSES FINGERS. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Nov. 6. A distressing accident occurred last evening during the Guy Fawkes celebrations on Nelson Park. Gordon Peterson, aged 13, set light to what he thought was a Roman candle, but which proved to be a “bomb,” with the result that the explosion blew off four fingers of his left hand and injured his left eye seriously. He also received scalp wounds. The lad is now in hospital.
