BULLS
THE CHILDREN’S BALL, (From Our Own Correspondent.) \ , » .BULLS, Oct. 26. There was a good attendance of children and .adults at tho annual school ball, held in tho Town Hall on Friday evening, and the function proved a great success. Tho weather-was delightfully fine, and not too cool, and the . kiddies rolled up in a re-markable-array of fancy costumes, showing the interest parents had taken in the ball. The 1 'hall was tastefully decorated with greenery, relieved with paper flowers and lanterns, the latter being mado by the pupils and proving very effective. Tho teaching 'Staff of the Bulls School controlled tho children on the dance floor, and the deportment of tho little dancors showed that they had been carefully trained. The Marton orchestra (six instruments) supplied bright music, and dancing was interspersed with children’s games, suitable for tho dance room, which, played to tho lively strains of “The Jolly Miller,’’ proved an attractive novelty. Tho supper arrangements were in the capablo hands of Mesdames Arthur Ellery, If. Edwards and F. Cutts, assisted by a bnvy of other Indies, and the wants of the children wore fully attended to in the suppen room. Tho takings at the door were about up to the average, and wore supplemented by a competition for an iced cake, tho gift of Mr S. Avery, which was won by Miss Minnie Kearney. It is esEccted" that a net profit of over £4O will e the result of tho effort. Shortly after 9.30 the adults took tho floor and dancing was kept up until midnight. Members of the school committee:, assisted by Mr W. Olson (headmaster) worked hard to make the evening an enjoyable one for young and old, and they and lho ladies’ committee aro to bo congratulated on the success of their efforts.
