MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
BREACHES OF BYLAWS. Several offender® against the traffic by-laws appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. . ‘ ' ' , . , For parking a car for a longer period than twenty minutes in Rangitikei Street, J. O. C. Neil was fined 10s, with 10s costs. Similar penalties were inflicted on V. M. Pope, and J. B. Sankey for parking cars more than ten feet from the kerb. A plea of guilty was entered by W. H. Stephens to parking a car not parallel to the kerb. He was. fined 10s,, with 10s costs. William Boddy , was charged with carrying more than two persons on a motor-cycle without a sideear. He was fined 10s, with 8s costs. John Hickey and Joseph Rush were each penalised to the extent of 10s, with 3s costs, for riding cycles on the footpath. Failure to possess a heavy traffic license for lorries used in the Kairanga County was charged against W. H. Webb. The inspector stated that leniency had been extended to defendant, who had been warned. His Worship imposed penalties of £5 and £2 respectively, on each of two charges, with 12s costs in each case. William Ritchie pleaded nob guilty to driving on the wrong-side-off the traffic dome at the corner of Rangitikei and Cuba Streets, i Defendant stated that he was, watching an approaching car and misjudged the distance from the dome, which he gently touched in passing.- It was not a negligent or wilful breach. Defendant was fined £l,with-10scoste, His Worship commenting that he should have stopped. -
