FALL FROM TRAIN.

Per Press Association. WAIMATE. Oct. 11. At the inquest before the Coroner, Mr George Dash, concerning Mrs P. D. Leahy, who fell from an express train near St. Andrews on October 5, the evidence showed that deceased had felt' sick and had' gone out on to the platform for fresh air. The platform gates ■ wdre closed . previously, but when approaching St. Andrews Mrs Leahv was seen leaning out with -a handkerchief- to her mouth. Presumably, she had opened the gate to be sick clear of the train, - and as she had been .suffering from fainting- turns recently, apparently she fainted just past St. Andrews, fnlling out on to ner head, fracturing her skull and dying within a minute qf arrival of tne station officer. A verdict of accidentally killed through falling from a train was returned.
