GENERAL FORECAST. An anti-cyclone covers the Eastern Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Winds westerly in Otago and Southland, and mainly south-west to south elsewhere; light to moderate generally. Seas smooth or moderate generally. Light to moderate winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea; westerly in the southern portion; variable with south to southeast prevailing in the central and northern portions.
