WAGONS DERAILED.

ACCIDENT AT BALCLUTHA. SCENE OF PREA-lOUS DERAILMENT. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN. Sept. 4. Eleven, not 14 meat waggons were derailed in the accident near Balclutlia last evening. The line was cleared at 1.20 this morning by a relief gang from Invercargill. The train was a long one of 40 waggons with a passenger carriage at the rear. Fortunately, the guard noticed the meat wagon swaying dangerously just before the smash and apolied the AVesting lioase orakes from his van.

The passengers felt no shock. A similar accident close tp the same spot occurred at the same time in November of last year, and the same driver and guard were in that smash.
