APPLICATION FOR SUPPRESSION OF NAMES.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 3. “This sort of" thing is becoming overdone,” said Mr Tate, S.M., in refusing an iapplication for tho suppression of the names of two young moil, Leonard Edward Smith and Raymond Jack Vernon Elliott, who were remanded in custody on a charge of breaking and entering a coal merchant’s premises on August 17, and attempting to steal a safe and its contents, valued at £IOO. Detective Meiklejohn indicated that the police would not oppose bail when a further remand was asked for next Friday.
