THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST. Monday’s storm lias now crossed the Dominion, but another slight depression is advancing over the South Tasman. Pressure is high over Eastern Australia. South to west winds, moderate to strong generally and of gale force at first in some exposed coastal position; moderating gradually later. Seas rather rough to rough generally. •Moderate to strong south-west to westerly winds and rather rough seas in the Eastern Tasman Sea. Weather still cold, changeable, and equally with passing showers, but later improving gradually. Some frosts inland in the Bouth Island.
DISTRICT REPORT. COLD AND CHANGEABLE. The Government meteorologist telegraphed to-day:—The indications are for southerly winds, moderate to strong. The weather will probably be cold and changeable and at times showery, but later conditions are improving. The barometer is rising. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —3ft. 6in.
