(United Service.) LONDON, Aug. 24
Sir lan Hamilton pays a tribute to the late General von Sanders. Sir lan states that “he was a most chivalrous foe, as all who fought against him will agree. He might often have easily fired on our wounded, yet he always avoided any breach of the rules of war. His name after' the war was listed among those to be tried for their actions during hostilities. “I sent a letter to the Times stating that I was assured I spoke for the Dardanelles troops in saying that they did not wish to see him tried. “General von Sanders was a clean fighter and played fair during our one brief armistice. He never shelled clearing stations or hospital camps.”
