A SPLENDID CONCERT.
FOR WILLARD HOME. The public of Palmerston North are ever ready to support thoso homes which provide for children who are orphans or who from unfortunato circumstances are rendered homeless. The maintenance of these institutions requires a considerable outlay, and necessitates an annual appeal for funds. Tho -Willard Homo executive have arranged a most attractive programme for the concert which is to bo given in the Opera House ion Wednesday next, and the excellence of tho entertainment, together with the humanitarian objects of the concert, should ensure a large audience. The Palmerston North Orpheus Society has very kindly offered its assistance, and its full choir will bo heard in part songs, and will also provide quartette numbers. . Miss Doreen Saunders, a young elocutionist who has gained much praise for her successes at the Auckland Competitions, will make her first appearance in Palmerston North, and will prove to be a most versatile artiste. Her items will include a humorous recitation, musical monologue and action song. ihe vocal solos will be contributed by Mesdames E. J. Leydon F. McLaughlin, Dean, Newton and C. Finlay, and Mr R. B. Ross and these artists are so well known that their contributions will be most welcome. An instrumental trio will bo rendered by Misses G. McKenzie, M. Muirhead and Air M McKenzie, and a violin solo by Air L,. Finlay. Air R. H. F. Grace will give a mystery demonstration, which will includo several new illusions. The xylophone numbers of Mr C. Bell are always well received, And his appearance will add to the evening’s enjoyment. The accompanists will bo Alis 3 Stevens and Aliss Tcppett. The generous oilers of assistance from these performers is much appreciated, and has resulted in tho executive being enabled to arrange a programme of outstanding merit. The prices of admission are most reasonable, and seats may be booked at tlio Central Booking Office a 3 from. Alonday morning. Tho detailed programme appears in our advertising columns.
