REBEL KING HARASSED. (Australian Press Association.) DELHI, Aug. 23. Harassed by rebel tribesmen led by Nadir Khan and his brothers, and upset by intrigues and disloyalty in Kabul, the capital, Bacclia I. Sakau is now making a desperate bid to retain the throne of Afghanistan. He has offered a reward ,of £IO,OOO for the capture of Nadir Khan, dead or alive. It is reported from Peshawar that Baccha’s leading General, Khan Mohammad, has been captured, together with a division of troops, by Taghari tribesmen and brigands. The rebel King’s force lias also been driven from Gardez. an important point strategically. • In ironic contrast with the civil war waging throughout the country, Kabul to-day celebrated the eleventh anniversary of Afghan independence.-
