SILK PRODUCTION.
POSSIBILITIES IN AFRICA. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 21, At the invitation of the respective Governments, the • Imperial Institute i has arranged for Mr Norton Breton to visit Tanganyika, Uganda, Nyasaland, Southern Rhodesia and the Union of South Africa for the purpose of studying the possibilities of silk raising on a commercial scale. Mr Breton is chairman of the advisory committee on silk production in the Empire at the Imperial Institute, and under its auspices experiments in silk growing in these countries hive been proceeding for some time.
