(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, Aug. 22. The following scores were recorded at the wekly miniature rifle shoot: —F. Rosvall, 69—68—137; J. Baker, 67—68—135; L. Raikes, 67—67—134; G. "Jepson, 68— 66—134; H. Robson, 65—68—130; L. Koberstein, 65—68—133; R. Mitchell, 63—67 —130; F. Patience, 63—67—130; M. Watson, 65—65—130; E. Bailey, . 64 —66 —130; H. Hughes, 66—63—129; A. O’Donnell, 63 —66 —129; G. Duthie, 66—60—126; A. Pedersen, 59 —66 —125; C. Bailey 68—57 125; H. Gore, 67—57—124; L. Burrell, 61—62—123. Tho result of tho shoot for Mr O’Donnell’s trophy was as follows: —A. Mitchell, 412, Ist; F. Rosvell, 411, 2nd; J. Baker, 406, 3rd. On Tuesday evening a farewell social was tendered to Rev. F. M. Kcmpthornc in the Library room. Though the weather was rough thero was a large attendance and the evening was spent in songs, games and dancing. Reference was made by Mr C. Anderson to the impending departure of their guests. Rev. and Mrs Kcmpthornc, who had accepted a call to a Wellington church. First, ho wished to express regret for tho absence of Mr W. Grecnhow, who; was indisposed, and who was to have spoken on behalf of tho church. Mr Anderson, in expressing regret at the coming departure of the guests felt that, at, the same time, th’oy must congratulate Mr Kcmpthornc on the great step forward that ho was taking and which woidd give him a greater centre in which to work. Tho speaker referred to the work that had been carried out by Mr Kempthorno during the past ton years in Bunnythorpo and the church district. In asking Mr Kempthorno to accept a substantial cheque, on behalf of tho members of the Anglican Church, which was an expression of their best wishes, Mr Anderson wished Mr and Mrs Kempthorno tho best of health and God’s blessing. Mr Kompthorne, on rising to respond, was greeted with the singing of “They arc Jolly Good Fellows.” He said that words almost failed him to express thanks to them for their gift and for Mr Anderson’s kind remarks. Ho had been associated with the peoplo and the church for the past ten years and during that time ho had tried to give of his best for his church and people, and he wished to thank, for their groat assistance and help rendered, the officers of tho Church, tho Sunday school teacher and the Ladies’ Guild. He hoped they would give to his successor the same hearty support. On behalf of Mrs Kempthorno ho heartily thanked the people of Bunnythorpo and his words to them were, “Cling to your God and cling to your Church with God’s blessing.” A dainty supper was provided and a most enjoyable evening spent. Songs were contributed by Mrs Heggio, Mr Nicklson.and Mr Wilton.
