OVER SIXTEEN THOUSAND
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 28. According to an official return furnished by the Dominion Bowling Association, there were last season (192829) 314 bowling clubs in New Zealand, with an aggregate membership of 16,086. Of these clubs 186 were in the Nortli Island, with a membership of 10,328, and 128 clubs, with a membership of 575 b, were in the South Island. During the year the increase in the North Island was 49 members, whilst in the South Island a decrease of seven was recorded. The increase in the aggregate membership of clubs for the past four vears was 992. " The Wellington Club, with 195 members, has the largest membership in Now Zealand. Next in order of numerical strength are the Carlton Club (Auckland) 171; the Romuera Club iAuckland) ICS; and the Auckland Chib. 157. The largest centre membership is that of Auckland, with 2852 members compared with 1609 members in the Wellington Centre, 1583 in the Christchurch Centre, and 1331 in the Dunedin Centre.
