THE HOSPITAL.
ADMINISTRATION NOT CRITICISED.
BY KAIRANGS COUNTY COUNCIL.
“According to a newspaper report of the last meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council, there was a reference made that the Kairanga County Council was now criticising the Hospital Board’s administration,” said Cr. Small, at the meting of tho Kaifanga County Council, to-day, when discussing the conference or local bodies which will endeavour to obtain an increased Government subsidy for the Hospital. “This council has never criticised the administration,” he added, “and I want the position made clear. Twelve months ago the Kairanga County Council could not agree with the Palmerston North Borough Council in its criticism of the Hospital administration, hut now it is accused of criticism. Such is not the case. All that we are endeavouring to do is to obtain an increased Government subsidy for the Hospital, and no fault lias ever been found with the administration of the Hospital’s affairs. This point should be made perfectly clear. The Palmerston North Borough Council’s request for support practically amounted to a vote of no-confidence in the administration of the Hospital.” Cr. Bachelar: It seems as though a wrong impression has been gained and the position should be made clear. . Tho discussion then lapsed. Concerning the confernce, advice was received from the Borough Council that His Worship the Mayor and Cr. Hodgens would represent the council in the matter.
