BOY SCOUTS.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Juno 7

The party of New Zealand scouts leaving by the Tamaroa to-morrow morning for the jamboree were officially furcwelled at Parliament Buildings this morning, when the Minister of Labour, Hon. \Y. Veitch, presented the troop with their colours. Messages conveying wishes for a successful and profitable trip were received from the Governor-General and Premier, both of whom expressed their confidence that the boys would worthily uphold New Zealand's reputation at Home. Mr Veitch said that a great responsibility rested upon the members of tlio party, but he was sure they would not let the Dominion down. As Boy Scouts they were all imbued with the highest ideals, for the movement stood for unity, loyalty'and decency. Their creed was a simple one, but lie doubted if it was such a simple matter to live up td it. It was the duty of boy scouts to engender goodwill and be hoped that they would remember that not onlv abroad, but also when they returned to New Zealand. Earlier in the morning the scouts were inspected by Major-General Andrew, Chief Commissioner for New Zealand.
