HUMAN TORCH.

CHILD’S DREADFUL DEATH. Ethel Jean Mclntyre, seven years, daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward McIntyre, of Newton Boyd, -between Grafton and Glen Innes, died in agony in the Grafton (N.S.W.) Hospital from shocking burns about the body. The child was watching a billy can of waiter on a fire at her home, 62 miles from Grafton, when her clothes caught alight; She ran, like a human torch, to her parents, who wrapped a blanket about her, and extinguished the flames, but not before she had suffered terrible injuries to her head, face, hands and Jody. Her clo'thes were almost burnt off.

The Grafton motor ambulance rushed 62 miles to the scene, and, after rendering first aid, brought the child to the Grafton Hospital where she died three hours later.
