QUEER SITUATION
FRENCH YOUTH’S DILEMMA.
BIRTH NOT REGISTERED. OFFICIALLY BORN, THEN MARRIED. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) Received June 7, 12:5 p.m. PARIS, June 6. Henri Benesse, though only 17 years of age, wanted to be married. So his father took him to the Town Hall at Cambrai to get the necessary papers. Ignoring the presence of Henri Benesse, the Registrar assured tho father: “But your son is not yet born.” Tho father insisted that lie knew better—he had seen him daily, and had kept him, for 17 years. But the Registrar was adamaut. The birth had never been registered. So, not being born, the youth could not possibly be married. Tho father unavailingly gave the date of birth and time of registration, so there was nothing for it but to hunt up the doctor and nurse and have Henri Benesse officially born—only to be instantly married.
