BURGLARS’ OPERATIONS.

HAAVERA SHOP ROBBED. Per Press Association. HAW ERA, June 6. Following a burglary at the New Plymouth establishment of C. C. Ward. Ltd., a little over a week ago. when £3OO in money was stolen, the Hawera branch of the firm received attention last week-end. In this case the thief or thieves were not so successful, only £3 3s lid being secured. The safe, which contained a large sum of money, received attention, but it resisted the efforts made to open it. In the office till small change was found, including £1 worth of pennies. At the time of the burglary at the firm’s New Plymouth establishment it was reported from New Plymouth that the Hawera branch had also been robbed of goods and £9O in cash. This was incorrect, no burglary having taken place here. -
