FAULTY BOOK-KEEPING.

OFFICIAL ASSIGNEE’S COMMENTS.

Per Press Association. HAMILTON, June 6. The very large proportion of bankruptcies due to faulty bookkeeping was remarked upon by the Official Assignee (Mr J. H. Robertson) to-day. The case being reviewed was that of Thomas Neilson Drummond, milking machine agent, whose deficiency was stated as £1321. Mr Robertson pointed out that the loss fell on the whole community, as losses due to bad debts were made up by other buyers. A creditor’s representative suggested that the wholesale houses should insist on retailers keeping proper books.
