MOTOR CAR TAKEN.

LATER FOUND DESTROYED

Sometime between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m on Wednesday, a fiye-seater motor car, the property of Mr J. LBennett, was taken from Cuba Street, and it was found on Thursday morning in James’ Line, Whakarongo, burned to the chassis. Mr Bennett will lose heavily, as the insurance on the car was much below its value. Mr Bennett states that he left his motor car in front of his premises at nine o’clock and, on coming out to use it an hour later, found it had gone. The police were advised immediately of the car’s disappearance, but nothing further was heard until a resident of James’ Line telephoned the police station that the remnants of what had been a motor car were standing derelict on the roadside. All that was left of the car was the engine, the body work and even the front tyres having been burnt.
