SANDON.
METHODIST ANNIVERSARY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SANDON, June 7.The 54th anniversary of the local Methodist Church was celebrated by special services held on Sunday loot. Rev. J. F. Parker, of Ashhurst, occupied the pulpit both morning and evening. The choir, assisted by friends, rendered special music for the services, and Miss Martin, a visitor from Wanganui, sang a solo at the evening service. The annual tea meeting and rally was held ion Wednesday. A good number were present for the tea at the Town Hall supper room. The rally held at the church was well attended. Rev. C. H. Kendon occupied the chair. Addresses were given by Rev. Copeland (Feilding), Handy (Marton) and Thornley (Halcombe). Contributors towards a -most enjoyable musical programme were Messrs Sherrill, Barrington, Winchcombe and Mr Harvey (Marton), Misses Hill and Hughes (Feilding) and Mr Tunnicliffe (Sanson). At the close Rev. Mr Kendon expressed the thanks of members to all those who had assisted to make the rally the success it-had been.
