PERSONAL.
A London cable message states that Earl Balfour’s health is causing anxiety. Mr H. K. Bergersen, of the clerical, staff at the Palmerston North Post Office, has been promoted to the position of supervisor of the clerical branch at Gisborne. Mr L. H. Ihle, telegraphist at Foxton, has been transferred on promotion to the post of postmaster at Glen Oroua. At yesterday’s meeting of the Rotary Club, reference was made to the impending departure on an ' extended tour of the United States and Canada of Mr G. D. Pattle, one of the club members. On behalf of.the club, the president, Rotarian N. H. Mackie, wished Mr Pattle a happy trip and a successful return.
