CHARGES OF THEFT.

YOUTH REMANDED. Having pleaded guilty to two charges of theft, Andrew Gordon Robinson, aged 18, was this morning remanded for sentence by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., until Monday. The first charge was the theft at Glenbrook (Auckland) on April 24 of a suitcase, a fountain pen and clothing, of a total value of £7 13s. The second charge was the theft at Longburn on February 24 of three blankets and a quilt, valued at £3. Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse saul that it was suggested by the probax tion officer that accused should be committed to the Borstal Institute. However, he would ask that Robinson be remanded until Monday to enable a report to be obtained. Accused had had two previous convictions. This the Bench agreed to, expressing the opinion that a report was advisable in the circumstances.
