EDUCATION BOARD.
AVANGANUI DISTRICT.
Mr W. A. Collins presided over a meeting of the AVanganui Education Board this week, when also present were Messrs J. Aitken, W. Adams, M. H. Oram, A. S. Coleman, R. Dukeson, E. F. Hemingway and W. S. AVoodrofe.
The architect reported that at Foxton boards had been fixed to the science and cookery rooms of the high school building. A new cycle shed had been erected and was being made use of. Tho painting work had yet to be completed. At Russell Street the concrete work at the back of the building and at the front entrance and around the outbuildings had been completed. The taking down of the “sh.ack” at Terrace End had been put in hand. It was proposed to carry on with the works in hand, and, at AVaverley, to commence with the erection of the new building and the remodelling of the old. All the buildings at Kimbolton would be removed and painted. The staff consisted of 10 carpenters, seven painters, two apprentices and two bricklayers. RELIEVING TEACHERS.
