MOTOR TAXATION.

PROBLEM FOR BOARD. Per Press Association. M’ELLINGTON, May 15. Replying to a deputation from the ■Wellington taxi proprietors, who pointed out the anomalies existing as between the various centres in regard to the heavy vehicle tax, and seeking relief from the heavy burden that Mrellington proprietors in particular are carrying, the Minister of Transport today stated that the Transport Board was working very hard on the whole problem of motor taxation. He hoped, he said, to be able to afford some temporary measure of relief, but could not make a statement at present. He recognised that there were anomalies and that the burden was heavy.
