UNLUCKY FAMILY.

TWO DEATHS AND FIRE. Fate has played queer pranks with the Dengate family, of Temora, New South Wales, of late. Recently Francis Dengate, aged 22, a popular district boxer, was found lying in a pool of blood, with a doublebarrelled gun alongside him. A bullet had entered his head just above the nose, and had come out through the top of his scalp. He died later. A poignant feature of the tragedy was that Dengate’s wife died the previous Sunday, leaving a six-weeks-old baby. A few nights later a fire occurred at the home of Mr J. Dengate, senr. Mr Dengate is a cripple, but he was resciled just before the flames enveloped the room in which he was sleeping at the time. Mr Dengate’s home, together with an adjoining weathei-hoard house, was totally destroyed.
