STOLEN CAR.

PROBATION FOR THEFT. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, March 27. At the Magistrate’s Court this morn, ing, Robert Turner, aged 19, pleaded guilty to unlawfully converting a car valued at £350 to liis own use. Accused and another took the car from a private garage and drove it to Wellington, changing the number plates on the way. They abandoned the car at Kaiwarra. Accused, who had given himself up, and had spent a month in gaol afterwards, was sentenced to twelve months’ probation and ordered to pay the car owner £2O, the cost of repairs.
